The creation of the Centre of Portuguese Language was formalized by a Cooperation Agreement between the African Union Commission and Camões-ICL, signed on 6th December 2006.
Its mission is to promote the teaching-learning of the language, within the framework of continuous training of the employees of the institution, and to support the activities and strengthening of the translators and interpreters.
